The Account Manager services multiple pieces of business, and is responsible for the ongoing client service and internal resource allocation. The position is accountable for managing client engagements including the client satisfaction, quality of service, and on-time, on-budget completion of the agency's work as well as project-based strategy and execution. This position is responsible for the accounts profitability, strategy and allocated/managed agency resources.


  • Supports Account Director with agency process, including development of various tools and services.
  • Maintains a working relationship and establishes a high level of trust with counterpart(s) in the client's organization.
  • Builds internal reports of client's activities, monthly revenue forecasts, and plans for future development of accounts.
  • Keeps team apprised of all relevant client and market/industry developments.
  • Participates in the development of proposals and delivery of client presentations; ensures they are dynamic and strategically relevant.
  • Is familiar with overall agency goals and able to cross sell the various agency disciplines.
  • Develops and implements strategic communication plans using all proper resources, e.g., research, competitive information, market analysis, with input from the client and other agency strategists, when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates the ability to represent the agency in all activities and tasks performed by the agency for the client.
  • Is proficient in client's business and tracks client's performance as well as the performance of the client's competitors; researches and communicates information that may influence the brand and/or business.
  • Works proactively to provide clients with business and marketing solutions through strategic, integrated communications.
  • Develops creative briefs, in conjunction with the Research Team as appropriate, and leads team briefing meetings with alongside Account Director and Creative Director.
  • Monitors project's ongoing adherence to the creative brief.
  • Anticipates problems, surfaces them and resolves issues (in regards to strategy, budget, and resource allocation).


  • Analyzes and shares with the entire team all relevant information and insights regarding agency clients' business.
  • Shares important account information and client news with the entire team.
  • Fosters collaboration and positive conflict resolution among team members.
  • Ensures all team members are included and appropriately engaged, including the client.
  • Performs other work-related responsibilities which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.

  • Has a deep understanding of all agency services and departments, the roles and motivations/needs of the staff in those departments, and how teams must work together to develop the best solutions for our clients.
  • Has a complete understanding of the contract, as well as the agency's financial/non-financial goals, for assigned accounts.
  • Stays up-to-date on marketing trends and best practices.
  • Has effective interpersonal skills; builds rapport and positive working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • Maintains accurate time sheets, and encourages the same from agency team members.


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field is preferred.
  • This position requires demonstrated ability effectively lead multiple staff and the activity of at least more than one account.
  • At least six (6) years of experience in marketing in a client organization or account management in a full-service agency is preferred, including at least 3 years' experience leading cross-functional teams and supervising direct reports.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with strong verbal, written, presentation and communication skills.
